QT 7.6.6 vs. Vegas

I just updated QT to 7.6.6 and I'm using Vegas 8 pro. I never had any issues until this update now there is no image in Vegas! I can watch the QT files with the QT player but I just get a black screen in Vegas. Please help as I'm kind of freaking out here.

BTW I'm on Win 7, and the mov files are from my Canon 7D transcoded to DNxHD

Also no MOV files work, not just the ones from my 7D

Hey Boulder,

I've encountered problems too with Quicktime 7.6.6. Vegas 9 crashes almost immediately if I bring in quicktime files.

I would say to go back to 7.6.5 if you can.

This is the nature of updates sometimes...fix one thing, break another.

I was able to find one of the last remaining 7.6.5 QT versions on the web and rolled back...works. I'm keeping the 7.6.5 installer in case this happens again.
 
Also Apple has an official 7.6 (7.6.0) download page for those of you who can't find a later version.

Unfortunately we will have to make that the recommended version for DVFilm Epic
until they fix quicktime or we find a way to work around it.

Another suggestion, turn off the quicktime "automatic bugdate" :(
 
Thanks mvb. BTW you might want to throw a stylesheet on your EPIC I page, I think that might have been overlooked.

i had the same problem and had to go back to uninstall quicktime and go back to an earlier version. :angry:
 
vegas pro 9.0d corrects the problem with quicktime 7.6.6.

but i have vegas pro 8.0c. :badputer:
