Qmaster, FCP, DVDSP Question ??

Ok so I've been thru every forum on the net trying to find out what's wrong with my FCP, compressor, DVD Studio, live type, Motion Package. I'm getting a error saying "Unable to connect to background process". Ok with that said, this is my problem.

When I try to compress my project to mpeg2 in compressor out of FCP (after choosing my destination, format, etc..), when clicking the submit button a message box pops up saying "Unable to connect to background process", then after clicking ok, it's back to FCP and that's it. :)

Here's the instructions I'm following and can't seem to find a few files that are suppose to be there (and they're not).

For instance

Qmaster_Frameworks.pkg is the only .pkg I can find on my drive. Now that brings me to the conclusion that maybe it didn't install right, so my question is on the FCP 4.5 HD Suite (consist of FCP HD, Motion, DVD Studio Pro), which disk has Qmaster on it?

I've tried to look into all of the icons/packages (show packages content) and can't can't seem to find it.

Thanks

Chris

Ok so I've done a little looking around and found older files

qmasterservices.plist (this is a newer file, Jan 15, 2007)

QmasterApplications.plist (this is a newer file, Jan 15, 2007)

qmasterconfig (this is a newer file, Jan 15, 2007)

---------------

qmasterconfig.default (this is an older file, july 5, 2005)

qmasterservices.plist.default (this is an older file, july 5, 2005)

transcoderx.plist.default (this is an older file, july 5, 2005)

from june/july 2005, after I performed a erase and install with the new tiger (I thought they were deleted, guess not). So now I'm asking myself if I should delete these and reinstall everything or is there something else I can do?

Ok here's the fix

***Note if you're not experienced in the Terminal, then I'd recommend to ask before doing so, you're at your own risk on this one***

I disabled a startup item, but now I want to use it

If you disabled a startup item but you're now certain that it's associated with a trusted application, you can install the application again. Or, if you're an advanced user (and an administrator) who's familiar with Terminal, you can use the following steps instead of reinstalling the application (we're using "TrustedApp" as our example application; please substitute it with your trusted application's name):

Open Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities).
Type the following line, then press Return:

cd /Library/StartupItems/TrustedApp.app/

Type the following line, then press Return:

sudo rm .disabled

From the Apple menu, choose Restart.
When you see the alert about the startup item you want to use, click Fix.
Click Restart in the second alert. After your computer restarts, the item should work as expected.

Good Luck and if you have any questions email me!!!
