PVC connectors for DIY dolly track

Just saw this link. These look really good for connecting PVC pipe. Just drill a
couple of holes at each end and you're good to go!

I seem to recall someone on this forum posting a similar DIY solution with expanding
hardwood using a hex wrench, but couldn't find it.
