Putting projects on iPOD

I have exported both Quicktime Movie (mpeg-4) and quicktime converstion to iPOD. I am able to get the project into my iTUNES but try to drag it over into my iPOd, but say iPOD will not accept the format? any help? pllease?

If you use the iPod preset, your iPod will accept it. It should have a .m4v after the name. The MPEG-4 version won't cut it, as the iPod prefers H.264, and with very specific settings. That's why you can't tweak the iPod preset in QTPro.

And on the subject of QuickTime Pro, there's a new book coming out in February, "QuicTime Pro Quick-Reference Guide" that will be really nice.

I had issues too using the default iPod preset when trying to upload my videos to iTunes. What works for me is H.264, 768k, 320x240, and 30 fps. Audio should be AAC-LC, up to 160k, 48k, stereo.

Hmm... Still haven't gotten it to work . I've tried about every route. I can open the files in MY iTUNES but cannot drag onto My iPOD because it says my iPOD cannot play them? any other routes?

OH one more question, I tried changing my settings under SEQUENCE in FCP and the program keeps crashing? Bug or something hidden? Any idears?

Try this: If you go to my blog, there are a couple of video podcasts, along with links to the source file which is what works with iTunes and iPod (you'll see "click here for high-quality version). Try one of those and see if it works. My blog is at http://nevercoldcall.typepad.com

Last resort, make things really easy, in iTunes, right click the video, you should have an option to encode it. Let iTunes do it.

You can also open a file that DOES load to your iPod, open it in QT Player, open the Info window, jot down the settings, duplicate that for an export.

SICK. That worked Rad . . . But only one thing. I tried a few different styles of files and the sound is always off just a tiny bit. Any suggestions...thanks for the help!
