So, I have all of these anamorphic video files and wanna cut them all together. I tryed putting them in FCP and it makes them smashed horizontallly. When I play them in quicktime they are properly scaled, and the dvds that I have burned of those files looks great too. What am I doing wrong, and yes I have a anamorphic sequence?
 
Even when I preview the files in FCP they are squeezed. The files I am importing are uncopmpressed .mov that are exported out of their projects as current settings. Wouldn't I be able just to put them back in and it would all be good?
 
Have a look at the properties of the clip inside of FCP. There's a line item for anamorphic, it's supposed to have a check mark next to it. If it doesn't have a check mark then click it to force a check mark. The footage should now display as widescreen.
