Looks like I was able to rebuild the battery for my trusty DA-P1. It is charging now, and I actually went with NiMH batteries that have over twice the capacity of the originals. Now, I had to buy another charger (batteries will have to charge outside the unit) to charge the new batteries, the old one states "NiCad only". The voltages match (7.2v) and any device will only use what amperage it needs. Here's hoping it works!!!!

I am going to eventually rig up an Eclipz for it, or buy a new field recorder.
 
Nice, it works great! Anyone got any dead BP-D1's (DA-P1 batteries) they are not using?????? I'll take 'em.
