Pusher trilogy

Has anyone ever seen Pusher? A brilliant 1996 Danish crime movie by director Nicolas Winding Refn.

There are also 2 sequels which are excellent as well. Very violent but top notch acting.

I highly recommend another of Refn's movies called Bleeder. You can watch Pusher 1 here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufRE1LcyrHc

I watched the first one on Netflix. There's something to be said for it and one of those shots really stands out, but overall it was kind of depressing. And worse, boring, albeit punctuated by horrible actions.

I love the Pusher trilogy. Basically "hang out" movies, but you hang out with low life criminals. Mads Mikkelson shows his chameleon act once again in the first 2, then in the 3rd you hang with the local kingpin on the craziest night of his life.

Very cool films, and ones I recommend for film fans looking to expand their movie universe. I want to see Bleeder but can't find it anywhere.
(also, can't remember if it was the beginning of an episode or just a poster but the Simpsons pay homage to Pusher)

Though Bronson looked awesome in trailers, I didn't care too much for it, but can't wait to see Valhalla Rising when I get the chance.

I just loved the fact that it goes to show you dont need a multimillion dollar budget with state of the art special effects to make a bloody good movie.

What did you find boring about Pusher? The talking? Can you rmember which shot it was that stood out? How did you find the acting?

Bleeder is fantastic as well, same actor that plays Frank, (Kim bodnia) and Mads Mikkelson plays a geeky video store worker trying to get a date with this chick. Excellent movie as well. Shame you cant find it either.

I will be watching Bronson soon as I havnt seen it.
