No I am not talking about the new camera's delivery date. That will be good too.
Today I found out when my interview with the US consulate will be for my greencard. May 27 is the date. And if all goes well I will fly home the next day, pack up a truck and avtually live in the same city as my wife. Minnesota look out. It has been two very long and tough years waiting for this.

Fantastic!!!! Keep us posted! That is the day I will be moving in to my new apt! :) So I can forget about you!

Man, I don't even want to think about it. I'm marrying her on the 22nd and then the fun starts. 2 zillion forms to fill out + hey, guess what? I don't live in the States at the moment so everything is triply complicated. We're going to have to fly in just to hand in the packet.

And no one seems to know exactly what needs to be done. They all act like it has never happened before.

With all the years the DoD has had folks stationed around the world, marrying those dang furriners, you'd think the process would be a little more streamlined, if not sensible.

I look forward to having some company in this ... *disgust* place...

Seriously - aside from the freakishly hot summers, west nile, and winters colder than Moscow (I'm not kidding) and the highest rape rate in the country, and one of our main cities is nicknamed Murderapolis, and the music scene here is a little bare, and oftentimes the housing here is less than forgiving...

Other than that it's the best state in the union!

Thanks folks
Dan I do not envy you. Not that I am there yet, but like you said they make it as difficult as possible, and everyone you talk to seems to think things are done a different way. But the wait will be worth it. I forget what my cats look like, and to actually get to sleep next to my wife for more than a few nights in a row will be novel.
As for Minesota, especially the winters, I am comming from Winnipeg, the winters down there are closer to Florida's than ours.
Horse do you need me to bring down some Canadian beer, or will you have something that is drinkable:)

I don't drink mass-produced US beer, so all is good.

Oh yeah, but a little beer is good now and then, too.

A little beer! Come on now, you have a reputation to uphold.

I am not man enough for the stuff you folks call whiskey.

ahhh, whiskey. can't touch the stuff since the "Old Thompson's Whiskey" experiment. My college roommate and i each downed 25 shots of the stuff in various emulsions and then straight, as a kind of "pre-party." Cheap whiskey, disgusting. I mean really cheap and ultra gross. It was a short night. Now I can't even stomach the smell of the stuff.
