Pulldown

If you're working in a 29.97i timeline and you want to place a 23.98p piece of footage in there? No it doesn't. Neither FCP or AVID to my knowledge. It sucks.

You must first run your stuff through after effects and render new files with a pulldown added.

Depends on the source. Depends on the sequence you're actually using - is it 29.97 interlaced (60i), or is it 30p? You'll want it 60i.

If this is DV footage, then you're fine in an NTSC sequence, but you want to shoot 24p standard and NOT 24pA.

This is also true of DVCPRO HD 1080/24p; you're fine in a 1080/60i sequence if you shoot 24p standard and not 24pA.

What is the source of your footage, what is the actual frame rate of the 29.97 (is it interlaced or progressive), and what do you actually want to do with it?

The footage is 29.97P and 23.98Psf
Nothing is really much motion and it was supposed to be all 29.97, but I don't really care which it is.
There is a lot of footage so I'd prefer to do something w/o gobs of render time.
Thx

You're going to want to do that on a 60i or 60p sequence, then. What are the frame sizes of the footage? What cameras shot these?

If it's 30P but you can stick it into your 24P timeline and see a passable result, than don't do anything - just use it 'as is' :)
