PS comic book sketch for a movie.

I'm working with a professional sketch artist to incorporate sketches with my DVX footage 720x480 24P advanced... and I need to know what would be a good sized file for him to draw his sketches in. I will be looking to re-create camera movments i.e. tight zoom, pans, swishes, to his sketches in AE by manipulating each of the PS layers. What do you think would be a safe image size to enable me the freedom to animate these sketches and not have to worry about stretching the image beyond its pixel rate? AND at the same time not have to put to much stress on my sketch artist's processor... he might charge me more. thanks!!
 
Safe size for real closeups without showing pixels would be at least five times your frame size. And you might wanna think about throwing on a little "Optics Compensation" filter in AE to simulate lense aboration.
 
yup. It is under Distort. You use it mainly to take video that has bent edges on top and bottom and fix them so that a photo or other element that does not have the distortion will look right. But, you can also use it to make something that is optically perfect (like a scan of a drawing) and make it look like it was shot with a lense. it's a very small issue, but I thought I would bring it up.
