Hi guys,
I've recently bought a canon t3i and I'm thinking about replacing my current editing system so it can work with footage from that camera.
I've tried editing a few shots taken from the camera in premiere cs5 on a pretty new Dell XPS core i7 laptop, and it could barely move. With all due respect to the Mercury Engine and all, it just doesn't play nice if you don't have the exact graphics card that it wants.
So I transcoded the footage to with media encoder to mpeg2 and everything was working ok.
But now, if I want to export my movie, is there an efficient way to replace the converted files to the original so that the output will be in the best possible quality?
Basically I'm looking for an editing workflow with transcoded h.264 files.
Thanks
