Proxy editing and DV

Here`s a question about proxy editing from HD files.
To the editors who works with proxies like DV - if your destination format is SD, like an ordinary DVD, do you use the DV proxy before rendering or do you replace it with the HD footage ?

(And don`t write that I need a faster computer!)

To me, it will be difficult to describe correctly sequence in your language!

I read in a Vegas brochure: "If your destination format is standard definition, you don`t need to to replace the proxy clips before rendering".
But I agree - replace it with the HD footage.

If your final format of standard clearness, you certainly can work with HD a format in your project and then to quality DVD!
But, if you are allowed by equipment of your computer!
I haven't absolutely understood your question... Or a problem...
You try to work in the project and for you bad timeline?
Or a problem in other?
If at you in window Preview, video jerk, press button Video Preview-establish Auto!
For viewing of difficult sites use:
Tools-
Build Dunamic RAM Preview Shift+B
Selectively Prerender Video Shift+M
Clean Up Prerender Video
Or you speak about ProxyStream Script v1.5e for Vegas?
(For simplification of work with HDV)

Thanks for the tips, KISeAn.
I`m not using ProxyStream Script v1e.

I found this question in a another forum and I`m wondering the same thing, with some changes (Nobody answered the member):

Just a quick question on this proxy editing process. If I have source AVCHD files at 1080/50p, do my proxy/intermediate files need to be at 50fps as well? I was hoping to edit DV AVI files (720 x 576 at 25fps) as it's so smooth.

If the two don't match, you may find yourself in for surprises once you swap the original files back in.
