protecting the eyepiece

I wear glasses...and I just realized that I have put a few serious scratches on my DVX100A eyepiece glass by jamming my eye into the viewfinder. Any cheap way to protect the surface of the eyepiece glass (akin to the UV filter I use to protect my lens or whatever)?

Cheers.

I don't know if you've ever had a PDA, Palm in particular, but you can purchase self adhesive clear plastic like protectors as the screens keep getting banged up. I believe these come 6-12 in a pack. Take off your eye cup, trace around a piece of this material, use a #11 X-acto, and cut out your tracing. CAREFULLY peel off the adhesive protector and place on the eye piece glass. I also wear glasses but, after an eye piece focus, have never hit the glass portion with or without chamois attached.

I don't know if it's just me or does the image seems so far away in the eyepiece? Do they make a magnifier piece for it?
