Prostate Cancer Doc - REPOST

I thought I would resurrect this thread, as I've grown as a person and a filmmaker since the creation of it. A lot has happened and the documentary has now grown far beyond what I had expected it to initially. The first "producer" ended up bailing on the project and it was dead in the water for a couple of years.

Slowly, but surely through networking and new contacts, we were able to develop a new story treatment and start fresh. We are now in talks with a couple organizations (already being supported by Ovarian Cancer Canada) with regards to sponsoring the project, however we are also holding a little fundraiser/variety show on the 25th of August.

If you guys are in Toronto and would like to come check it out, you can visit the website at:

http://www.cancersbelowthebelt.com (you can purchase your ticket from the "Buy Ticket" link)

Hope some of you guys can make it out!

I can't be much help other than moral support. My father has Prostrate Cancer also and it may actually kill him. He's in his 80's and his heart is bad enough that they decided against surgery.
Best of luck on your project and your father is in my prayers.

Thanks Peter. I'm sorry to hear that - your father is also in my prayers. My father beat the cancer through a test study. He had three gold pellets inserted into his prostate, which would focus the beams closest to the tumor. After that he had to go for injections once every three months. He goes for his last one in the next month or two.

It was great to have my father at my fundraiser event - he and my family thoroughly enjoyed it.

We have made quite a bit of progress with the documentary, however we've run into a couple snags which we'll be working out in early November.

I hope to be able to update this thread with some real information soon!

Kegan
