Properties for Rendering

If I want a widescreen setting for my footage, do I need to have a specific setting for rendering? Also, do I need to go into each segment and choose "pan/crop" and set it at 16:9?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Properties for Rendering

You can also crop to other, wider aspect ratios like 1.85:1 (there’s a preset for that), 2.35:1, 2..5:1, etc. . . . but remember that when you render out to Widescreen, it always renders 16:9 – so your picture will have black bars at those aspect ratios. That’s fine. All of your widescreen Hollywood DVDs are that way. This black space is actually a good place to put things like subtitles.

You do, however, need to be sure to match the setup or the black bars in your clip and the black 16:9 bars created by your DVD player won’t match. (This won’t be an issue on widescreen TVs.)
