Test consist of:

- skin tone test
- moire test

All tests are done along side the Canon 7D DSLR camera to compare the quality to an average DSLR camera.

Still can't wrap my head around this camera. The idea seems great, but man, why is it missing the things it's missing?!

[Tom Roper]

It may not make it easy but it makes it possible.

[Tolin]

Biggest problem for me is the vertical banding. It seems to appear even in the shadow areas of well lit footage.

[Andrius Simutis]

It may not make it easy but it makes it possible.

Great comment and so apropos.

[David W. Jones]

I marked this camera off my list with no way to delete files or format the drives in camera.

I have the BMCC 2.5k and the issues Polcan notes with the 4K have been a problem with my cam for a few years now. BM has promised a software update to improve audio, audio meters, in-camera file deletion, etc. but that update hasn't materialized yet. Great image quality but frustration waiting for BM to make these improvements...

Blackmagic didn't promise or announce any of those things.

The only announcements made were for better PRoRes recording and a few other things.

Those things that you're waiting for may never actually happen.
