Proper credits for consulting/camera/motion graphics work on documentary

Hey all, I got a request a couple months back to help a friend on a documentary with some motion graphics. I made a series of lower 3rds, titles, end credits and the like. I gradually started getting more involved in the project and shot some standups that went along with some extra motion graphics to illustrate some facts and figures. I also ended up helping a lot on the technical side, assisting with problems that arose with the edit because the director isn't as technically proficient as I am. Because of this, the director of the project said she wanted to share any awards or recognition from the finished product with me and give be a better credit in the film beyond 'motion graphics' and 'additional camera.'

My question is, what should the proper credit be? I'm not sure if I should be credited as a producer or some sort of technical consultant, or what? I've worked in news and PR, where credits are pretty straightforward (or simply nonexistent). Does anyone have advice as to the proper etiquette for this situation? I've done a fair bit of searching, but haven't seen anything that really applies here.

Thanks!

You're entitled to whatever credit you can negotiate.

Based on what you describe, you should certainly get a credit for "graphics" and also for "camera" or "additional camera". You can also take a credit for something like "post production consultant", "editing consultant", "consulting editor", or anything similar.

There's no reason why you couldn't get a credit for "Producer", "associate producer", "post production producer", or even just "consultant".
