Proper 24p workflow for after effects?

I need some immediate help regarding how to treat 24p footage between premiere and after effects.

I tried a few tests exporting an uncompressed 24p avi from Premiere Pro 2.0 and putting it into after effects 6.5 for tweaking, then I export back out of after effects and into premiere pro and the footage looks noticeably worse.

I tried looking but can’t find a proper workflow between premiere pro and after effects that doesn’t degrate the quality of my footage.

Does anyone have any examples of a good workflow between the two programs with 24p footage. It’s driving my nuts, I’d really appreciate a little help.

Thanks in advance.

I don't use Premiere, but I find the best way to work between my programs is to use image sequences, like TIFF's or PNG's. When you're done in AE, then just render out to whatever format that it was originally in for Premiere. Also, use the frame rate 23.98 (23.976) because that's technically what your footage is at.

Im having a problem as well that might be similar to yours. Im working with a clip in Premiere, fixed it in AE and when I render it out and put it back in premiere, its really choppy. Its 24p footage and rendered at 24, any ideas?

My workflow...
If I shot 24p, I'll import the clip into AE. I go to "Interpret Footage" and make sure that AE doesn't remove the pulldown. I'll tweak the footage in a 29.97 comp. Export using DV settings, Uncompressed AVI. Import back into Premiere and render in Premiere.

If I shot 24PA...Import into AE. AE automatically removes pulldown. Tweak in a 23.976 comp. Export using Best settings, uncompressed. Import back into Premiere using a 23.976 timeline.

Thanks for the feedback, i figured out a workflow thats perfect for me. I render out of Premiere an uncompressed QuickTime, then in After Effects i go to interpret footage and select seperate lower fields first so when i tweak the footage its not interlaced looking. Then when i'm finished with my footage i go back to interpret footage and select Seperate fields off, so i get my fields back. I export an uncompressed QT, and render in Premiere. The footage looks perfect.

Thanks again for the help.
