Proof of Concept Exploits (viruses) and this site.

Anybody ever read about "proof of concept" exploits? These are computer viruses and hacks done by freelance programmers, hackers, and sometimes even employees of companies.

It's a stupid thing in my opinion... because most of the time it becomes the foundation for a REAL virus or it just "gets out" somehow and does it's thing. I could care less who came up with the damn thing. If my computer's f*cked up because of some virus I'd like an ear off the person who wrote it.

Anyway... right when this site went down today I had kvg.exe registering all over my firewall and this forum was redirecting to an explorer scripting prompt.

My guess is the site went down because of the kvg.exe exploit... sometimes called keks.exe

"think happy thoughts... think happy thoughts... "

When I tried to get on, I had the same as you Mattinstl, it was called a Jwonka trogan. Luckily my antivirus cleaned it right out, but, it kept making me reboot.
Oh well, sh*t happens. Glad its back!

yeah, when i loaded it this mornin it woldnt work on firefox...so i tried IE..adn norton just lit up like a muthasdiofdf....allkinds of "virus" warnings when the page loaded...i thought the site was hacked by some kiddies...

 If this site was hijacked by some .exe exploid this would mean it is running on a microsoft webserver ... I wouldn't want to comment on that really.

Me too. Zone Alarm kept flagging that kvg.exe lie mad--what is that kvg.exe?
