PROLYCHT Orion 300 Color Spot Light

I mean, at that price it's definitely very much class leading if it lives up to it's potential on paper. Luke Seerveld said that set to 5600 it's about as bright as a 300dmk2...and it pulls basically the same watts, so we're talking about a 300dmk2 that costs about $900 more to get all the bells and whistles of the top end full spectrum lights. Basically the same price as a Hive 200, but with double the power.

That said, I rarely need the full spectrum. What I really need/want is bicolor but with green/magenta control. That's what is actually useful for just about every shoot that I do, and that's exactly what doesn't exist without having to pay for all of the other stuff that I would rarely use.

They have units in reviewers' hands now, so I'm guessing we'll see videos soon on the YT.

The Prolycht is definitely a leap of faith given how new they are. I'm assuming aputure is scrambling BTS to get their version out.

I'm sure Arri will sell orbiters by the 100s and 1000s to major productions but I'd be interested to see how big it would have turned out if the power supply wasn't built-in.

On the small production level, it's hard to get your head around a 15kg light that isn't that bright.

Saw this yesterday. Looks amazing. Lucky I've just had three shoots cancelled due to our latest lockdown otherwise I'd be very tempted!
