Projected film effect in post.

What would be some recommendations to get the look of projecting film on to a subject, without actually projecting the film? Anyone, done this in AE or other apps?

If you're looking for the look of actual film being projected ONTO an object, AE or another compositor is your best bet.

Play with displacement maps (to wrap the projection around the curves of the subject), and transfer modes (mutltipl, add, screen, etc) to get the projection look over top the texture of the subject.

Or stick the video through a projector and project it onto your subject - can work amazingly well.

Yeah, that is the look I'm going for.

The problem with that is that I want to put the effect on existing footage.
