progressive

Whats the best way to fake a progressive (30P) with either premiere or after effects. I have something shot with an xl2 30p and something shot with a pd-150 60i and obviously dont want to simply do a deinterlace. both shutter speeds where the same and i attempted to make the white balances similiar so i just need a way to fake the progressive.

Im assuming you know basic AE operation:

One nice way that is in a way deinterlacing but it makes it look progressive naturally is:

Import your footage twice, under the interpret footage options for both set one to upper field, the other to lower field, and also check the box under both that says "best quality only." Drop both into a new compostion at 29.97 and put the upper field clip on top, then make the opacity for that 50%. I think you should go to posterize time in the effects menu and set it to 30. Render and check result. If I made a mistake or something sorry I had to type this quick and go to work.
