I was wondering if it is better to render out as progressive or to stay interlaced bottom field first. Going to mpeg 2 and have the option in vegas 5.0

What is your final delivery platform? DVD to TV? Broadcast?
For DVD use I'd stick with progressive. If you're going Broadcast you may need to conform to the standards of the broadcaster: check with them!
