Professional monitor headphone

What are some of the best professional monitor headphone? My $100 10 year old headphone was just broken. I need to buy one.

Here are my candidates.

Sony MDR-7509HD
Sony MDR-7506
Audio-Technica ATH-M50


Help is appreciated.

Of those three, I've only used the 7506. But (aside from the annoying coiled cable), I love them.

Thanks for the reply. I just ordered the MDR-7509HD for $164.68 from eBay. On B&H it's over $200 and out of stock. I hope I won't regret buying this one.

I use either the Sony 7506 or Pioneer DJ1000. The pioneers are great for concert monitors.

I have the Sony MDR V6, a cheaper version of the 7506. They're absolutely fantastic.

Thanks for all the responses. I just purchased the Sony MDR-7509HD for $160 something from eBay.

For me, headphone fit is pretty important. I have had MDR-V600's for a long time which are similar to 7506's. Though the sound is good, they have never been very comfortable since they don't cover my entire ear, which also lets more outside noise in.

I just purchased a Senn HD280 and while I don't think the sound is better or worse, they have a superior seal around the ears and are very comfortable. Same price as 7506 at BH around $100.
