I guess the Panasonic DVX200 is my only option for the type of Zollies I'm trying to achieve. I'm interested in the best and newest cameras with great autofocus tracking where I only need to rely on the zoom rocker, not focus.

I know Canon's C300 MK II with Dual Pixel can output to an external recorder in 12bit 4:4:4. However, I'm not sure which telephoto lens I'd use with it along with an external rocker. I'm looking to track bike riders on the highway facing the camera. It's for a client tattoo shop, and this is the storyboarding he wants. So my creative approach will be some challenging zollies, and of course, pristine auto focus. I feel more comfortable just going with an ENG style integrated lens cam like the DVX200 now that it supports 10-bit 4:2:2 4K to an external. The prices for renting out the DVX200 are rather lovely too. I'll need to add accessories like the recorder of course..

Any other recommendations for this type of shooting? I need pristine autofocusing while zooming. I won't have a budget for a focus puller. Thanks!

I don't think the X70 allows for UHD/60p, does it?

The UX180 would also probably suit your needs.

Thanks Barry. As I mentioned, I love the flexibility of my RAW workflow using Blackmagic cams. I need to be able to high grade crush contrast from all scenery. I plan to shoot in B&W, so I'm not interested in Color, I just need to be able to lift or low the highs from the sky background and the foreground biker if needed. I know the DVX200 I can output 10-bit 4:2:2, and I heard the Sony already does 10-bit 4:2:2. The DVX200 however has the MFT sensor. Does the UX180, and I know it has a smaller sensor than the DVX200, but can it output 10-bit 4:2:2 to a recorder. I also heard the JVC Super 35 will have a new firmware to output to a recorder at 4K UHD 60p/50p, but I don't know of the bit depth output. Also with the JVC, I guess I would need a proper Panasonic OS telephoto lens with great autofocus ability... This is why I rather go with an optimized and properly calibrated all in one system as those mentioned. I will need to see if I can rent the UX180 as well.

If you're shooting B&W then 4:2:2 doesn't matter, although 10-bit still will.

The Sony records 10-bit in HD, but not in UHD. I don't know what it outputs.

The UX180 cannot output 10-bit.

The DVX200 outputs UHD 60p as 8-bit 4:2:0. It outputs UHD 24/25/30p as 10-bit, but when in 50/60p it can only generate 8-bit output.

Barry, thank you so much. You're saying the marketing of the Atomos recording 10-bit 4:2:2 60 UHD from the DVX200 only benefits Atomos, whereas Panasonic will still only restrict a particular bit depth ala 8-bit 4:2:0? I thought the burden of 8-bit 4:2:0 at 4k 60P was only internal, not external benefits?

If you look at Panasonic website they're presenting that workflow with the specs mentioned into the Ninja. That seems rather dark if it's still limited to 4:2:0 8-bit. Can you confirm or clarify.

I see Barry. You are right. So I'm out of luck with any 50p 4k 10bit 4:2:2

Because of this by Panasonic:

"External Output Video Signal: 8 bit 4:2:2/10 bit 4:2:2 (switchable menu)
*HDMI output of UHD/59.94p/50.00p becomes 8 bit 4:2:0.
Also, when 10 bit 4:2:2 is selected, recording is not possible with the main unit."
