Production Monitor Question (Clerification)

Hey all,

I was looking at some production monitors, and I came across a nicely priced one but it was under the category on B&H of "Presentation Monitors". I was wondering if there was a difference between these and the regular production monitors? I plan on using it out in the field on shoots.

I'm not sure about the difference between B&H grouping of 'Production' and 'Presentation', but that 'presentation' monitor does not have a lot of nice features that good production monitors have.

Features such as aspect ratios 16:9 & 4:3 switchable, underscan, color off and blue check functions. These usually seem to be the must have ability of a production monitor. Not to mention the higher the resolution the better image accuracy.

I put up an auction a few days ago for my JVC 15" production monitor, check it out if you are interested. It has all the professional features desired in a production monitor plus I am giving a great deal on price and shipping versus what B&H Photo charge (thats where I purchased the monitor).

Without blue gun mode for calibration its useless.

Although I have all Sony monitors, that's just me. I'm sure the JVC will work just fine.

Thanks for the comments guys. I wish I had the money now, I'd buy it off of you, but I'm waiting for a music video production that's coming in September (and the client will be paying for all that).

Unless you've got a Wratten #47 blue gel to look through.
