All,
I'm trying to get some information regarding both on and off set digital workflows on major studio productions. What I'm primarily looking for is best practice and what usually happens on most productions when shot on RED (Any model), ARRI Alexa, Panavison Digital etc.....again....both on set and off. I believe I know most of these processes and workflows but I'm trying to validate my knowledge and also get a few more questions answered. Any links to flowcharts and overall diagrams of file movement would be great. I have some.....but I do not think they paint the whole picture.
on set questions:
How are RAW files files are backed up on set ? (whats the best storage solution? Who is the best solution )
Are "looks" really used that often when viewing dailies? (I see two camps here)
how many people are usually in charge of file management / logging?
Security / Encryption of data on set.
post prod / editing questions:
Who has the most reliable and dependable Storage product?
How is that storage setup? (SAN, Cloud solutions...etc)
Seems like AVID is constantly playing catch up to products...do you all think AVID will still be the industry workflow standard in the coming years?
