Problems with V6 and IEEE external monitor?

When I set my preview to external monitor with default setting at "Preview Auto" and my Preview Device is set to OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394/DV, I get a lot of screen flicker even when set to Preview Auto. If I select the regular monitor in Vegas 6 or the Windows Secondary Display, it works flawlessly.

When I open up the same projects in Vegas 5, they play perfectly on the IEEE Monitor? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ray

Do you mean you get a jumpy picture in thin lines. Interlace Flicker? If so it is because a TV does not have the resolution that a monitor has therefore thin lines will jump between scan lines. Hince Jumpy. A computer monitor does not suffer from this as much because you are dealing in a higher resolution scan line. Anyway just add the reduce interlace flicker to your project and it will remove or reduce it.

Hi Hart:

No the picture is not in jumpy lines. For the most part I get like flickers in subtle box shapes and flickers in the the screen I tried the reduce interlace flicker switch and there was no change. Weird, because when I play projects in Vegas 5, all is fine.

I am using a Pinnacle Moviebox DV as my device. Is anyone else using one with V6 by any chance and NOT having any problems?

I am also curious what converters others are using? I was looking at the Canopus ADVC-300 and admiring the unit.

Firewire thru the camera

Firewire thru the camera

Try firewire thru your camera then to your client monitor. See if the problem still exists. If it does then it is another problem and not your convertor.
