Problems with HKey and uninstalling

Trying to capture a tape, and PP2 keeps hanging up. I tried to repair it, but the HKey is unable to be opened or accessed. I tried to uninstall it, and the same thing happens. So I figured I'd go straight to the source, and remove the registry key. No luck doing that either. Short of wiping the HDD, what else can I try?

Ok, I was finally able to beat the machine into submission after about an hour, and deleted ALL the registry entries for Premiere, then reinstalled PP2. Now when I try to capture, it still hangs up when I try to quit the capture, but at least I have the footage.

Trying to capture 24P HDV from a JVC HD100U, and have not had this issue before, but have changed some hardware since my last capture. I ended up replacing the MB and CPU, but the rest is still the same.

After all this crap to capture a half hour of footage, Premiere won't accept the footage, saying it's corrupt or invalid. WTF?

The people in the Adobe forums said I needed to do a fresh install on XP. So, I did a fresh install, reloaded everything, and it is still hanging/crashing during capture.
