Problems with conversion

Hi,
I've just been trying to make an mpeg from an avid reference clip using Procoder. This is something that I've been using with no major problems for some time. Today the conversion stops midway presenting me with this message:

"STD buffer underflow occurred. The mulitplexer cannot generate a compliant stream. Please check your bitrate setting."

I havent changed any setting so I'm not sure what's going wrong.

NEXT I tried to change a divx file using VSO convertxtodvd. Just as the process was coming to an end I get a microsoft error:

"Microsoft visual c++ runtime library
expression :asf->packet-replic-size7=8"

Could it be just coincidence that this is happening on the same day or are they related.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

We had problems with encoding from an Avid refrence file with a nitrus system when any of the folowing things happened

1: PC didn't have enough ram (HD content needs at least 1gb+)
2:Network speed was too slow, make sure its at least 100mbps
3:Network drives weren't mapped
4: someone rebooted the Avid editor/storage farm for it, and didn't wait a few minutes for all of the network directories to propagate

I know it sucks, but if all else fails, have AVID render out a whole file (not a refrence) then encode from that. Sometimes that's all you can do.

Good luck. Avid refrence files are beasts when they don't work properly. Just do some voodoo and cross your fingers.
