I'm having serious issues with a project, using PPro 1.5.
I'd applied some effects-color corrector, shadow/highlight, NeatVideo and Mercalli-to some of the clips and had problems rendering. It would either render some of it and stop (I had the entire sequence selected with the work area bar), or freeze while rendering. I finally got the sequence rendered and went to export using the 'Export movie' option (saving it as avi and using another program to encode), but when I played the avi back in Windows MP, the last 5:30-6 minutes of the sequence was gone. I'm sure that I'd selected 'Entire sequence' and had the out point set around 30 seconds after the last clip on the timeline.
Tried re-exporting, but noticed that with the last 5:30-6 minutes, the same 5:30-6 minutes that was previously gone, the audio sounded like it was underwater. I played it back in PPro and yep, it sounded like the audio was underwater. I'm not sure what I did, but a few minutes later, the audio was fine. I didn't render or re-import anything, so I'm confused as to what was going on there.
Then, PPro started to freeze, so I had to ctl-alt-del to shut it down. When I started it back up, the project wouldn't load. Actually, none of the projects would load and I had to close and re-open PPro a couple of times. It kept freezing so I closed PPro and re-booted. When my computer started back up, the external HD (a fairly new 500gb WD) wasn't recognized. Unplugged it and plugged it back in, and it was there. However, when I opened the project in PPro, some of the media was offline. I couldn't relink it-got the error message that it was unsupported or damaged. The files in question are 2 avi's, 2 tapes worth of footage. Windows MP wouldn't play them either, but they're still on the HD. I went through and freed up some space on and defragmented all 3 HD's, but that apparently had no effect.
Maybe it had something to do with having recently installed the NeatVideo plug-in. I thought that it might have had something to do with so many effects being applied to some of the clips, but I opened another project, and some of the media was offline in that project as well. That footage had no effects applied to any of the clips, and starting a new project and importing the clips only results in the same error message that the files are unsupported or damaged.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. Could I possibly use batch capture to re-capture the footage, or am I going to suffer a larger loss? Thanks.
