alright, so everytime i try to export a sequence from final cut through Compressor, when i click "submit" it says: "unable to connect to backround process"

im not sure whats going on, it was working a while ago. what exactly does "unable to connect to backround process" mean?

thanks, any help is appreciated.

Try this first. Export your movie from FCP at whatever settings the sequence is at. If you want to save time, you can uncheck "Make movie self-contained" to have a smaller, file, made quicker. However, keep in mind this file is a pointer to your original media and render files, so don't take any thing offline.

Then, quick FCP and open compressor as a separate application. Drag your created quicktime into compressor, apply whatever settings you want, and send it to batch. See if this works. If not, post the results.

It is typically desirable not to use any of the "Send to" commands in FCP for compressor.

yeah, i tried to export a quicktime movie, uncompressed to my desktop. then took taht file to compressor...still no go.

i can probably figure it out if i knew what Backroud Process meant....
