hi,

Yesterday as i was photograpying the sunset I came to see that a small black dot was being captured with no reason. in the upper left of this photo you can see it.
At first I thought that the lens was dirty but after cleaning it the problem kept going.
I'm stucked and have no idea of what is causing this. It would be great if anybody could throw a bit of light to this problem. By the way the camera is a nikon d40 with the kit 18-55mm lens and has two months of live.

Thanks in advance.

You have dust on your camera's image sensor. Look in your manual on how to lock up the mirror for cleaning. You will need a fully charged battery. Use a small blower (without bristles) to gentley blow off the dust speck. Be careful not to touch the sensor. You can salvage your photo by using the heal tool on that spot.

Hope this helps,

Allen
