Problems In Paradise (Crash Issue)

Hey guys, Monte here -

I'm trying to finish up this animation - but whenever I render out to anything lately (read: last 2 hours as the animation has grown more complex) I get an error - which reads as follows:


After Effects Error: QuickTime Export Failed -- Disk Error (I/O error; bad media)(-36)

it says that every time - regardless if I'm rendering a DV stream, an AVI uncompressed etcetera - and there is a file at the location I told it to export to - however the file isn't openable, and when I press "Ok" on the error box, the file dissapears...

Ideas?

Do a disk repair and make sure you have plenty of free space.

Now it "SEEMS" to be working - maybe it's because I cleaned off a bunch of **** and rebooted - maybe it's a ram refresh type of deal?

yes it is good to restart your pc before rendering and exit most of the programs on the taskbar, and especially from the virus scan, and make sure you have enough disk space.

...and sometimes you might need to clean up some processes in the task bar to help increase speed as well
