Problem: Work Lights for Green Screen

I was at a shop today that had very nice 2K space lights for $350. Now this will solve a lot of problems.

I used to use work-lights way back when. I thought 'what a great idea!' and like you was recommended by other new (or youtube) filmmakers. Little did I know how aweful they really were. Sure they're great for basic basic films, but that's part of the reason why they're not that great.

The only thing I could use them for was wrapping it in foil and directing the light only to a large frame of tracing paper. It gave some soft light, but generally was never easy to use.

Now I'm always working with professional lights, and can't imagine why I even though of buying work lights. Ugh...

Moral of the story, don't listen to 'youtube filmmakers.' Listen to people on these boards. :)

"Used moles, arris and other decent lights go for dirt cheap on ebay..."
Picked up a used strand 2k (with new bulb, barndoors, yoke) on the bay last year for $13.
Picked up a 500-1000 watt mole ellipsio(not sure of spelling) at a local auction for eight dollars. They all work great, just look around. Mole gear can almost always be fixed or parts found and can be resold easily if bought right.

You might try backing your light up too if you have room. I use a light just like that sometimes and it makes those lines if it's too close to the subject and backdrop.
