Problem with Zoom H4Next Handy Recorder

I can't seem to get the built-in speaker to work on my Zoom H4Next Handy Recorder.

I've had it for a year, but have always monitored audio through the headphones, so it's never come up.
I'm not sure if it's a setting issue, or it never worked.

I'm not refering to "live audio" (the manual says it can't do that). I'm talking about playing back
recorded audio. I can hear it in the headphones, but when I remove the jack no sound comes from the
built-in speaker.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I figured out the problem.

Turns out the thread (at the back of the unit) leads directly to the internal speaker connectors.
Over time, threading the unit on to my mounting arm broken through the back of the unit and
disconnected the speaker. Taking the unit apart and reconnecting it fixed the problem.

Who'd of thought?

Hopefully this will help someone with a similar problem!
