Hi. Im new at this forum and probably a beginner in film editing compared with you aswell.

My problem is the software of Vegas itself; I've selflearned this program it is absolutely brilliant, but lately(past year), there has been some problems with especially the fx-menues which I do not understand - I've tried several updates and so on, and nothing helps. Here is a screenshot of the problem.

As you can see, I cannot reach all of the menues nor complete most bars and such. This is very disturbing! Please help me out :)

Looks normal to me....

That particular media generator has no more options you can change.

Okay, I picked a bad example. In other effects its nearly impossible to do whats required.
But my problem is displayed in the screenshot though. Focus on the right "bar", it doesn't show all the way and therefore I cannot use that tool.
It doesn't mather what resolution I use nor how much I try to resize the actual window.

Can you see it or should I make a new one?

Are you referring to the keyframe window at the bottom? If so it functions like the timeline in that to expand it you can simply use your mouse to expand or contract it.

He's talking about the Horizontal and Vertical sliders.

The only time I've seen that happen with a program (not Vegas) is when Large Fonts or a custom size is set in Windows itself.

Try right-clicking the desktop, go to Properties | Settings | Advanced and reset the DPI settings to 96.

Those are the worst kind of problem. Don't know how you fixed 'em, don't know how to prevent 'em from happening again.
