Problem with Varizoom VZROCKPZFI Focus and Iris control w/HVX200a

I just bought a Varizoom VZROCKPZFI from another production team. The zoom works fine, but the Focus and Iris controls only work if I press very hard on the plug. Additionally, there is about 1mm of plug sticking out of the jack even when it's fully inserted and I put pressure on it.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, and do you have any suggestions about a solution?

I read the PDF instructions, and in accordance with those I have the Focus switch on the camera on A (Auto). I've made sure that the plastic housing on the plugs isn't interfering with the insertion (the fit is awkward).

It seems like there's a physical connection problem between the Iris/Focus jack on the HVX and the plug on the VZ.

Thanks for any help in this matter.

I use mine with an HMC80 and the first couple of times I used it, I couldn't get the plug all the way in the socket either, so it didn't work right.

After working it in and out a few times it started making contact consistently and has worked fine ever since. I do always push extra hard and check to make sure it's engaged and working before I roll the camera, but it has given me no more trouble.

Wish I could say I did something more active and definitive to fix it, but that's how mine worked ...

Good luck.
