Problem with Tascam HD-P2

For some reason my HD-P2 won't record audio correctly on the left channel when I have it set to INT. When I have it set to EXT. it records fine on both channels, and if I switch the cables from my mixer, the left channel still won't record - so it's not something with the mixer or the XLR cables. I have both inputs set to mic and not line, and I tried resetting everything to factory defaults, but nothing has worked.

If anyone has any ideas, they're greatly appreciated.

Do the meters respond for both channels?

From the HD-P2 manual: MIC controls whether the left mic input is from the internal microphone or from the normal input source.

Are you trying to record to the internal mic or to an external mic.

Wow, I feel stupid. I was reading through the manual, trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, but thank you so much for clearing it up. I didn't realize what I was really doing when I changed it to INT.
