Problem with Quality of Capture

Hey everyone. I recently got a PowerBook and Final Cut 4. I'm trying to learn FCP and am having a problem with the quality of the video I've captured. I shot on a DVX100b using scene F5. The video I captured looks choppy especially when there's movement. Well I playback the footage on the camera or connected to a tv it looks perfectly fine. But once captured it looks low-res. I intern at a video production place and their captured footage doesn't look choppy at all, and they are also using DVX100b's. I asked about my problem but haven't had the chance to bring my laptop in for them to look at. Thought I'd throw this out to you DVXusers also.

Capture preset is set at DV ntsc 2:3:3: pulldown removal. Sequence preset is DV ntsc48 khz 24. playback quality is set to high. i shot on a dvx100b but am using a gs250 as the deck. i did several test captures, played back in FCP, but also viewed the video from the scratch disk folder in quicktime. i also exported the sequence as quicktime and all 3 have the same results - kinda choppy looking in some areas of the video, and a low-res look to it. Is it just the display on my powerbook?? If I play back on a monitor or tv will it look smooth and crisp? Let me know if posting the footage will help. I don't know how to do a still capture but maybe that can help too.

Please help! Sorry so long-winded. Thanks!

FCP will not preview the footage in high quality. Also, when viewing your foootage with quicktime, make sure you have the "High Quality" setting turned on. You also need Quicktime Pro for this.

BTW, if you shot with F5 there is no pulldown to remove. Your timeline should be 29.97.
