The problem I'm having, is the FCP image isn't playing on the broadcast monitor (it only displays a Frozen still frame).
Everything was just fine with the exact configuration for at least three months. Whatever was playing in FCP would play through the DVX100 to the Sony monitor. For some reason yesterday when I opened the CFP project, my Timeline was in a mode where it was stuck to the top of the computer screen, and half running off the screen. The top tab was cut off, and you couldn't close it or move it around. This wasn't going to work, so I went through the manuals and finally got it to get out of that mode. I assume that in doing so, I may have changed some playback settings????
Since then, while the image plays fine on the FCP Viewer, the Broadcast monitor, displays a frozen image until you push stop. Once you push stop on the time line, the monitor refreshes to whatever frame that it was stopped on. If you push play that frame that is was paused on, is displayed on the screen (frozen) until you push stop again. On and on and on. Sound gets through just fine to speakers which are connected to the DVX100 headphone out jack. Like I said, the image is fine on the FCP Viewer?????
Let me describe the configuration. G5 dual. OS-X Panther, FCP 4.5, DVX100e (PAL), Lacie 400Gig hard drive, Sony Trinitron monitor (for all formats NTSC, PAL and SECAM), and some not so great desktop speakers with a Stereo mini jack.
How I have it hooked up: the G5 is connected to the hard drive, the DVX is connected to the hard Drive via Fire Wire 800, DVX is connected to the desktop speakers through the headphone out jack.
Things that seem to rule out cable problems: Goes through "Log and Capture" mode just fine, am able to control the the DVX through FCP, and while doing this, the image from the DV tape comes through to the Trinitron monitor. And like I said earlier, sound is getting through just fine.
I've done the obvious things, I make sure the DVX is set on VCR mode, over and over I went through "Refresh A/V Devices". I've made sure that "All Frames" are on, and that Video playback is on "Apple Firewire PAL".
Could the problem be on the DVX end? There isn't that much on playback on the menu. I've gone through and tried diffrent things with no results.
I'm pulling some serious hairs out, if anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.
Thank's a lot.
