Problem with lines in footage shot in 24p

Hi,
I am editing a project for someone and only have the files(not the tapes) to work with. They shot in 24p on a Canon GL2 and captured at 29.97. All the files have jaggy lines around edges etc. looking like it appears for it to have the need to be deinterlaced, but being it was shot progressive that would make no sense. Do I have to deinterlace the footage or was it captured incorrectly?
Thanks.

Being that the footage was already captured by someone else before I started working on the footage, I'm not sure if pulldown was removed. I'm going to guess No and that's causing the interlacing. How do I remove pulldown?

Hard to say- depends what they used to capture it. Chances are they botched the capture and messed up the fields. Solution is to get the original tapes and redigitize properly. Once you scramble field order it's pretty much hosed.

Apparently this footage was shot with a Canon GL2 in frame mode, which isn't real 24p. What would be the best capture settings for this if I were to go back and redigitize?

In that case use the standard DV NTSC/29.97 capture preset. There's no real pulldown to remove.
