problem with keyframes

situation: I'm tracking my camera forward on the Z axis. I want it to come to a stop, but not so abruptly. So I select the keyframe where the camera stops moving, and I hit F9 to change it to Easy Ease.

Now i do a preview of it and I'm getting a white flash that lasts about 2 frames before my camera stops tracking. I think it's just showing me my bottom layer, which is a white solid. I don't understand why it's freaking out on me, I'm not doing anything drastic, just changing the property of a keyframe. How can I avoid this white flash?

edit*

It's like for those 2 frames, it's killing all my 3-D layers, and the only layers i have that aren't 3-D are the white solids on the bottom. ahh this is annoying!

Have you tried to simply save and restart AE? Is your cameras motion path accurate or does it swing way around the last two frames? Someimtes when I add ease to camera point of interest it drastically moves for a few frames, and I have to manually adjust them.

ya i tried restarting but it just kept doing the same thing. So I just made the camera do something else which will work for my purpose. My computer is amazingly slow when i run AE, so maybe that's the problem. It takes me like a half day to render a 30 sec clip to H264.

h264 is notorious for long renders. A couple years ago I had a 12 day render. It consisted of about 40 3D layers of DV clips, with 3D strokes running between them. The length was about 5 seconds.

It's common practice never to render out compressed formats out of AE. Always render the standard animation codec, full res then export a H264 QT with QT Pro. I'm working on a project right now and it's 40+ layers with half of those being precomps at full HD. It takes a little less than an hour to render out an uncompressed animation QT, but even for a TIFF sequence it takes longer, about 1 1/2 hours. If I tried an H264 it would take forever. Try it, you'll see a huge difference.

About the flashing...not sure what's happening, maybe post a project file if you can. I usually select the keyframe and do an easy ease out (Cmd + Shift + F9, Ctrl if you're on a PC) or go into the graph editor and do it that way. A guy I work with way previewing a z depth move on his monitor and he had it zoomed in 200% and it looked whack, so maybe check and see if everything is set properly, etc.

it's ok, i fixed it.

i'm actually really pleased with the end result! thanks for your help guys!

here's the clip if you wanna see.

I'm stoked on how the clouds turned out. usually my clouds look really lame, but somehow i managed to make them look fluffy, yet still look cut-out. I think it's the slight shadow behind them that does the trick.

That is some good work. Is all of that original as far as the animations? Did you use some stock flower animations? Good work either way.

thanks man.

its all original, i made the flower animations based off a tutorial I found on the creative cow forums. It takes a freakin long time to make just one, so i ended up just duplicating the one I made, and I think I ended up using it about 5 times throughout the piece.
