Problem with Importing Premiere Clips into AE

I have AE7.0 and Premiere Pro 2.0 (Production Studio Premium)

I created a new After Effects linked comp in Premiere, I then copied the clip I wanted from my Premiere Timeline and pasted it into the AFX timeline...

For some reason AFX moves the In and Out points I have set in Premiere about 2-3 seconds ahead of where I set them! (And of course AFX won't let me move them back) Why would this happen?

Can anyone tell me how to stop AFX from doing this?

Thanks everyone,
Aza

Don't know if this helps or not. But, have you tried simply saving your project and importing to AE that way? I have had no problems working that way and copy and pasting has never been a foolproof way to go from one timeline to another. I can't be certain that incorrect comp settings would create the issue you are having.

I've never had this problem before on a project... it's wierd.

So do you mean instead of creating a Linked comp, just start a comp from scratch in AE and import my clip from Premiere that way?

Yes,

I would guess it to be the standard way of doing it. I use Premier to capture and edit clips and then export them as uncompressed to eliminate extra compression. Then I set my comp in AE however I like it and import what I need. Your way may be faster but it as I said I never did that and dont understand what could be causing the issue.

So you're exporting the clips first, that seems like it would make it a hassle if you have, say a few clips in your Premiere Timeline that you wanted to have the graphics interact with. Like if you wanted some stuff going on while a guys is talking, but the audio is taken from different parts of the same clip. to adjust the timing you'd constantly have to edit, re-export and try again.

There's gotta be an easier way...
