Problem with HD File

I have captured some 26 hours (a two camera shoot) of HD footage, taken from MiniDV cassettes from a Sony HD camera.

FOr the most part these files load into Premiere Pro CS3 jsut fine. But a couple of files won't load properaly. When I iimport than into a project, instead of an image i get a yellow message screen in many languages that reads:

Media Pending
Medios Pendientes,
Etc.

There is nothing there. If I look at the same clip in Windows Media Player, I can see that all the images/sound is there.

Has anyone experienced this and how do I get the footage to load properly.

Help would be welcome,

Look at the bottom right of the screen, is there a blue progress bar working?

Yellow screens are "processing" and will show the progress bar in lower right,
Red screens are "Media off-line" meaning the media is not found.

Just give it a little bit, it should finish processing the files and all should be well.

That did not seem to be it. I received another response from one of the DVX members pointing out that most often this is a problem that happens when the computer is underpowered or one is using an external drive and the computer just can't keep up. It puts up yellow screen "Media Pending" message.

This seems to be the problem. Moving the particular file to an internal drive at least allowed me to load it.

Thanks,

Good point, I always use my internal SATA drives (currently 2 500gb) Never had a pending/no load problem. (XP SP2, 3.0 P4, 4gb RAM)

nice to hear something worked for ya.

hi,
i have premiere 2.0 and it gives to me the same "media pending" message when i try to see HDV footage.
but i aquired the file in an internal sata hard disk. and i tryed with short footage, too.
at the bottom right corner the blue bar (with the indexing of the movie) fills completely and then it fills again, and again and again...
help me please...why? what shall i do??

thanks

i read about it on an italian forum.
i installed premiere from my user (with windows xp). but then i create a new user. loggin in with the new one the problem disappeared!! (but i don't know why...)
