Problem with Error, "Render error: insufficient disk space"

I'm getting the error, "Render error: insufficient disk space. Free up space with render Manager and retry?"
When I try and render my files.

The thing is my harddrive has 200GB's left and is not full... Is there a setting that I might have over-looked that limits the amount of render space? this is the largest project I've ever worked on, and never encountered this problem before.

Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

If you have multiple hard disks attached to your computer/installed in your computer, you may have to change the scratch disk to the drive that has space on it. Go to the FCP menu and then system settings to change the scratch disk to a disk with more space.

Well Im using a portable Hard Drive, but thats the drive with 200Gbs of free space, and it was already selected as my main scratch disk for everything. Does the "Minimum Allowable Space" setting have to do with render size limits?

Are you using a usb or firewire connection?

Have you opened your scratch disc menu to confirm that all media is directed to your external drive?

USB is going to give you these little headaches off and on for as long as you use it. Get used to it, or switch to FireWire as the NLE maker states as a requirement. You really do need FW. This is going to happen off and on for as long as you use USB.
