Problem with editing AF100 on Sony Vegas Pro

Hello,

I have problems with the RAW files (.MTS) that I record on the Panasonic AF100 and bring to Sony Vegas Pro.

The settings I am recording and editing are :

Panasonic AF100:
Resolution: 720 25P PH mode
Audio: LPCM
Sandisk Extreme 32GB SDHC card

Sony Vegas Pro:
HDV 720-25p

The first problem is that when I record for one continuous hour I will have three .MTS files to bring on the timeline, but the problem is that when I join both clips together there is a half frame gap between the two clips and the clips won't stick next to each other unless I have 1 frame over the other. The second problem is that I get half a second audio mute when it reaches the end of the first 4GB file.

If anyone knows the soloution can you please help ASAP.

If you want more information on my settings please let me know.

Thank you

Mo

Not sure about the second question, but for the first one -- start a new project (or delete the files from the current one). Go to project properties. On the Ruler tab, make sure it's set to SMPTE EBU 25 fps.

Thanks, I tried it but I still have the same problem

Is this a vegas problem? or is there an underlying issue with the clips (maybe corrupted) ?

For example, can you reproduce the audio issue in a media player ?

What version of vegas ?

If that's the latest version of Vegas, sounds like a bug on Vegas with AVC-Intra footage. AVC-Intra is kinda new, and there haven't been much sample footage when Vegas 10 came out. I'd suggest you make a bug report with Sony in that case.

Definitely try using Device Explorer with Vegas Pro 10 as I am pretty sure it will fix your audio dropouts.

Device Explorer is a feature in the Sony Vegas that lets you import a video that is stored on a SDHC card as multiple files as one big AVCHD file on your hard drive.
Function is reading the meta-data that the camera stores on the SDHC card, and stitching together all of the pieces of a long video file back into one large file on your hard drive.

Thanks Peter, Panasonic also suggested the same solution
