problem with color smoothing rendering in FCP..dvx100 vertical lines

I've been having problems with the vertical lines in my reds from my DVX100 footage...I read some threads and the color smoothing 4:1:1 filter was suggested and voila!! yes, it works when I am viewing a still frame in my viewer or canvas. However, when I try to render the color smoothing filter 4:1:1 in FCP6
it doesn't work? When I play back the rendered clip, it still has the same joggy,vertical lines in my reds...anybody??

The problem is the DV codec, once you render back to it, dump it to tape, etc. the problem will come back. If you are making DVDs, you can copy the sequence into an uncompressed timeline, then add your effects, filters, etc. and render out mpeg-2 files from there.
