Problem with Boris Red and Vegas 6.0

I just installed Boris Red today. And my computer is going crazy ever since. I try using Vegas 6.0 but it gets slowed down like crazy. I go to program files and click Boris Red Engine. After that, it doesnt load and then my computer gets mega slow.
I also tried opening it through Vegas as a plugin, and the same thing happens. Wtf is with this damn program? im like..bout to throw my comptuer out the window.

I run on Windows XP. With Service Pack 2 installed. Could the service pack have to do with anything? because ive heard before it doesnt really work well with Vegas or something like that.

Whats wrong??

I am not sure, but I am using that pair with SP-1.
BTW, BorisRed is very heavy application, for slow computers. I hope your is strong!

I guess my computer is strong..

Its got about 180 free gb of space.

4.1 ghz multiproccessor. <-- i think that alone would make it 'strong'

and 1 GB of RAM

My dad put Service pack 2 on the computer about a week ago..ever since then..the computer has been acting stupid. WTF!!!! is there anyway to un-install service pack 2? and go back to 1? I dont think system restore would work though...because it would delete all my stuff...i hate windows.....

EDIT: I just reinstalled it...still ****s my comp up...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Found this on the BorisFX site:

Vegas Red users should download the free web 3.0.2 update which includes bug fixes, optimizations, and a new Template mode for the Library Browser. You must have previously installed the full version of Red 3.0 or 3.0.1 to install version 3.0.2. An installer with Vegas preset files will be posted shortly, so check back!

Sounds like they are aware of the problem. I don't think SP2 is causing your problem. Hope this helps.

....but the program wont even open up when i click on it in the programs menu. Is it supposd to be opened thru Vegas? or both?

After Boris Update

After Boris Update

Sounds like you have some conflicting DLL's. This may have occurred in the sequence of installs of Boris, SP2, and the update from Boris did not update the DLL that is giving you the problem.
Here's what I would do...first, de-install Boris, taking note of ALL the DLL files your computer asks you if you want to delete - DO NOT delete any of them, just write down the names in full, along with the complete path of where they are. Then see if Vegas runs at it's normal speed. If so, you have narrowed it down to Boris itself. If not, go back in and delete - or better yet, COPY all of those DLL files to a CD, then delete them. Again, check to see if Vegas runs normally now. If so, you have found the DLL conflict, because they no longer reside in the directory. Then try re-installing Boris. It may just be that the DLL that comes with Boris, is not as new as the DLL that was in your computer or vice versa- then it's a matter of elimination to find WHICH dll is causing the problem. I think you can see the reasoning here?
Before you do anything though, I would check the Microsoft site to see if they have anything listed under the topic of VEGAS, or BORIS. That is ALWAYS the first step.
As far as using the Boris engine alone, not as a plug-in for vegas or After Effects, that is another story altogether. I have personally used Boris Red alone to design effects - for computer anyway, not for use in Vegas or DV, and it does start and run normally. It's a lot of work, but if you MUST have BORIS RED in use instead of using the Plug-In - this will be your only hope of resolving the problem.

Did you fix your problem with Boris? If so, what happened? My curiosity is getting the better of me.....
