Problem with AIFF file

I've gotten approval to use a track from Moby on our production trailer... but I can't get the AIFF provided to play back properly. I'm on a PC.
I can open it fine in the quicktime player, but all these programs won't open it:

Edius 4.03
After Effects 7
Avid Xpress Pro
Windows Media Player
Nero Wave editor
FE Convert Drop

Giving me various cryptic errors. Any thoughts? Maybe someone cares to convert it to .wav for me?

Format: Integer (little endian), Stereo, 44100 Hz, 16 bits

If Quicktime on the PC will let you (I'm on a Mac), try exporting the file in WAV format, which might be more compatible with PC apps. I haven't really worked with audio on PCs, so this is just a guess, but might be worth trying.

I suspect that you got the file from a Mac. Try adding ".aif" to the end of the name and saying yes to whatever "do you want to change the extension" question box that pops up. Mac. traditionally doesn't use extensions to identify file types and Windows does. Mac also uses 4 characters as type identifiers (in the resource fork that the PC can't see) instead of the three used by PC's. OSX has changed the standard but a Mac will read either system a PC wont. QT is probably more flexible since it is a Mac program ported to the PC.

I tried changing the extention, no luck.
I tried Vegas, no luck.
I'm not using QT pro, so I don't have an export option.

Hmmm, That's very strange since Aiff is a cross platform format. It is poss that the file is corrupt. I have had files that had corruption that would play in some apps. (ones that probably did less error checking) and not in others. You might try a file utility. Otherwise I would say get someone with QT Pro or a Mac to convert the file for you. Sorry that's not so helpful.

I downloaded "AIFF MP3 Converter" and converted the file to a .wav. Worked fine! :) The unregistered version only allows five conversions, but I only needed one.
It's here if anyone else ever needs it.
